In the case of repairs, e.g. when replacing a brake caliper bracket as the result of
accident damage, both brake caliper brackets, the brake linings and the housing
retaining springs must be replaced on vehicles with brake caliper brackets
manufactured before the production change with parts manufactured after the
production change (week 45/96).

To install new linings:

Clean brake piston, contact surfaces of brake caliper and brake caliper bracket at
the T-head guides and lightly coat with Never Seez grease (please refer to
Enclosure).

Install linings as shown in the running direction drawing
(please refer to Enclosure)
The mounting instructions for the running direction drawing is included with each
repair set.
Note: In case of repairs, the rear axle brakes on the E39 must also be greased
exclusively with Never Seez.
