Removing and installing/replacing starter
motor (M52,S52 with automatic transmission)
Note instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery,
refer to General Data MG 12
Disconnect battery ground wire and mask it.
Removing intake air manifold,
refer to 11 61 050
Unfasten nut and remove cable.
Installation:
Note line routing.
Tightening torque, refer to
Technical Data 12 41 4AZ
Brace nuts on starter screw connection and unfasten upper and
lower screws on starter from transmission end with suitable
extension.
Installation:
Tightening torque, refer to
Technical Data 12 41 1AZ
Unfasten nut (1) on support and remove starter.
