Replacing fuel pressure regulator (M52,S52)
Caution!
The fuel in the fuel lines is under pressure (approx. 3 - 5
bar)! Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Follow instructions for checking fuel pressure,
refer to 13 31. . . Fuel pressure check.
Switch off ignition.
Version 1:
Remove injector pipe with fuel injectors,
refer to 13 64 541.
Fuel pressure regulator on the injector strip:
Remove vacuum hose.
Remove circlip.
Note position of vacuum connection. Rotate pressure regulator
and remove.
Installation:
Replace sealing rings (1 and 2). Ensure sealing that faces are
clean.
Installation:
Allow lug on circlip to engage in recesses of injector tube.
Carry out function check on Digital Motor Electronics,
refer to 13 00 002.
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check faults in
memory then cancel fault memory.
