5 Series E39 528i (M52) SAL
Cut out connection point joining wheel arch, wheel arch extension
and side member approximately.
Caution!
Do not damage the strengthening support on rear axle.
Cut approximate line down connection between crossmember and
front trunk floor panel.
Caution!
Do not damage the floor group!
Remove the trunk floor.
Separate the upper section of the side member to approx. the
middle of the spring support.
Dimension A = 170 mm from hole
∅
20 mm in side member.
Remove scrap metal.
On vehicle:
Drill the holes for the plug welding connection on trunk floor /
spare tire compartment.
Drill out holes for plug welding connection between trunk floor /
crossmember in front trunk floor panel.
Drill the upper holes for the plug welding connection on side
member.
RA Replacing complete rear trunk floor (rear left side panel and tail panel removed
