5 Series E39 528i (M52) SAL
Remove gas pressure props,
refer to 51 24 300
Caution!
Gas pressure props have strong tension.
Secure trunk lid to prevent it from closing accidentally.
Loosen left and right screws (1) and (2) to point where it is still just
possible to move the trunk lid.
Lift out cover plate.
Unfasten screws (1, 2) on lower section of trunk lid lock until it can
be moved from side to side and up and down.
