Special body tools
E38, E39
Situation:
The special tools described in the following are required for carrying out repairs on the body
equipment properly.
The installation gauge 51 3 210 replaces the tedious measuring of the height differences
between the windscreen and the outer roof skin on the E39.
The fixing pins 54 3 170 enable quick adjustment of the drive cable on the glass and steel
sliding/tilting sunroof.
The newly developed tool 00 9 300 for removing the fresh-air grilles replaces the feeler
gauge previously described in the Repair Instructions. Damage due to removal errors or the
use of incorrect tools (e.g. screwdrivers) will no longer be reimbursed.
Procedure:
Offer tools will be supplied automatically in accordance with the current tools agreement.
