Diagnosis aid:
A defective articulated washer can cause complaints such as knocking or juddering during
load reversal while the vehicle is being driven.
Features indicating that the articulated washer should be replaced:

Visual inspection: buffer disc visibly twisted

Check by hand by twisting and tipping
Inner tube can be turned, rubber element fractured

Elastic rubber predampers fractured
Note:
The segments of the outer bushes are equipped in production with a thin rubber
coating (Fig. 1, item 1c) which wears when the buffer discs make contact. This has
absolutely no effect on the operation or service life and does not constitute
grounds for exchanging the washer.
