5 Series E39 530d (M57) SAL
Slacken nut (1) on battery positive connection point.
Tightening torque,
refer to 12 51 3AZ.
Detach battery positive terminal upwards.
All cars:
Unscrew nut (1).
Installation:
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 12 41 4AZ.
Remove battery positive lead (2).
Remove battery positive lead (3) from solenoid switch on starter.
Remove cap (1).
Release nut on battery positive lead (2) on alternator.
Unclip battery positive lead (2) from holder (3).
Remove battery positive lead (2) upwards.
