Removing and installing/replacing primary
catalytic converter (M57)
Remove underbody panelling and engine shielding.
E39 car only:
Unscrew bolts (1).
Withdraw flexible pipe ends of primary catalytic converter from
exhaust system.
Release screws (arrow) on shield plate (1).
Remove shield plate (1).
Release bracket (2) on underbody panelling.
