Complaints about the integrated automatic heating and air conditioning
E39 with integrated automatic heating and air conditioning (option 534)
Complaint:
Complaints are being received about the integrated automatic heating and air conditioning
in the E39. As warranty analyses have shown, the causes of these complaints are not
always known in the workshops.
This leads to components such as the control panel of the integrated automatic heating and
air conditioning (IHKA) being exchanged unnecessarily and without authorization.
The most frequent complaints received are as follows:
1.
The air-conditioning system delivers air-conditioned air after a delay of approx. 5
minutes.
2.
The A/C compressor runs constantly when the air-conditioning system is switched on.
3.
The fan of the inside sensor runs constantly.
4.
The footwell is heated sporadically.
5.
The heater blower only runs at a constant speed, increases its speed on its own or
stops running from time to time.
6.
Different versions of the IHKA control panel cannot be distinguished from each other
by their outward appearance.
None of the complaints desribed above are valid reasons for exchanging the IHKA control
panel.
