Replacing tank vent valve (M62)

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Switch off ignition.

Version 1:

Tank venting valve (1) is fitted in front left wheel arch.

Unfasten plug connection (1).

Release hose clamp (2) and detach fuel hose. 

Open fastener (3) and detach hose.

Installation:

Always replace clip and fuel hose.

Read out fault memory of control unit of Digital Motor
Electronics (DME). Check stored fault messages. Rectify
faults and clear fault memory.

Version 2:

Disconnect plug connection (1).
Release hose clamp (2) and detach hose. 
Remove tank venting valve (3) from bracket (4).

Open fastener and detach fuel hose (5).

Installation:

Always replace clip and fuel hose.

Read out fault memory of control unit of Digital Motor
Electronics (DME). Check stored fault messages. Rectify
faults and clear fault memory.
