5 Series E39 535i (M62) SAL
Lift off cover.
Unfasten 4 retaining screws on torque converter with special tool
24 1 110.
Note:
Continue turning engine on central screw in enginewise
direction.
Installation:
Unscrew and remove special tool 24 2 300 from the torque
converter.
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 24 40 1AZ.
Fit special tool 11 7 310 between engine oil sump and front axle
support.
Turn front wheels to right lock to ensure that center track rod is not
subjected to excessive loads when transmission is lowered.
Lower transmission until engine oil pan is located on special tool
11 7 310.
Protect torque converter from slipping out. To do this, insert
special tool 24 4 131/ 24 4 132 in recess in transmission case
and tighten down.
