Figure 2: Area to be foam-lined

Inject the foam from the engine compartment through the by-pass opening (1) into the
cavity at the rear. The area to be foam-lined is shaded in the illustration.

The area of the by-pass opening (1) must remain open. If necessary, excess material
can be removed by hand (use gloves!).

Continue to inject the foam until the rear area (two holes (2)) is full of foam.

-

Allow the foam to harden for 10 minutes before installing the intake filter housing.

100,000 km.  

The cavity foam cannot be reimbursed under the defect code, only as a net price as an
outside service (sublet code 4).
