Removing and installing or replacing battery
positive lead (between starter, alternator and
battery positive support point) (M60, M62)
Switch off ignition.
Observe safety instructions for handling vehicle battery.
Instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery,
refer to General Information MG 12.
Disconnect negative battery lead.
Cars without primary catalytic converters only (M60, M62)
Unfasten screw connection on oil-filter housing.
Place oil-filter housing to one side.
Disconnect alternator connections.
