5 Series E39 540i (M62) SAL
Cars with integrated fuel pressure regulator in fuel filter only
Unscrew bolts (1).
Press down cover on floor plate (2).
Remove vacuum hose.
Pull out locking bracket (1) in direction of arrow.
Remove fuel pressure regulator (2).
Installation:
Check O-rings (1) of fuel pressure regulator for damage and
replace if necessary.
Apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to O-rings (1) of fuel
pressure regulator.
Release clamps (1) and detach hoses.
Release clamp (2) and detach hose.
Installation:
Replace clamps.
Loosen screw (3)
Remove fuel filter (4).
