Removing and installing/replacing coolant
manifold (M62)
Disconnect intake air manifold,
refer to 11 61 050.
Unscrew and remove splash guard.
Unfasten drain plug for coolant on right engine block.
Drain and dispose of coolant.
Installation:
Replace sealing ring.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 11 5AZ.
Top up coolant. Vent cooling system and check for leaks,
refer to 17 00 005.
E38:
To improve accessibility to coolant manifold, lift water valve out of
mounting and press to one side.
Note:
Illustration with engine removed.
Remove all coolant hoses from coolant manifold.
