Removing and installing/replacing exhaust
manifold, left (M62 VANOS from 9/98)
(Cylinder bank 5-8)
Unscrew and remove splash guard.
Remove exhaust system.
Remove left heat baffle plate.
Remove Lambda control sensor,
refer to 11 78 530.
Press press-stud fasteners (1 to 4) in succession and
simultaneously raise acoustic cover slightly; remove acoustic
cover once all four press-stud fasteners have been unlocked.
Installation:
Position acoustic cover and press downwards until press-stud
fasteners (1 to 4) click into place.
Fit special tool 00 0 200 to special
tool 00 0 201 / 202 / 204 / 208 and attach.
Note:
The supports (1) of special tool 00 0 208 must make
contact with the screws on the side walls.
Caution!
Only suspend engine from suspension lugs provided for this
purpose.
Attach special tool 00 0 200 to the front suspension lug.
Tighten the screws (1 and 2).
