Removing and installing complete exhaust
system (M62)

Unscrew and remove splash guard.

Disconnect plug connection for oxygen sensor/monitor on
left and right.

Support exhaust system with special tool 31 2 220.

(Weight approx. 48 kg)

Unfasten mounting on catalytic converter from back of body.

Release nut on rubber mount and remove suspension.

Cars without primary catalytic converter on exhaust manifold
only:

Unscrew exhaust catalytic converter from left and right sides of
exhaust manifolds.

Note:

The connections between exhaust manifolds and the catalytic
converter are only fitted with sealing rings on the inner tubes.

(1) Without sealing ring (outer)

(2) With sealing ring (inner)
