5 Series E39 540i (M62) TOUR
Unfasten nut.
Remove shift lever.
Installation:
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 24 51 1AZ
Insert special tool 24 5 260 in radial seal and remove radial seal
by tightening down the extractor sleeve.
Installation:
Fit special tool 24 5 490 to the manual shift valve shaft.
Coat sealing lip of new radial seal (1) with transmission oil.
Slide radial seal onto manual shift valve shaft.
Installation:
Press radial seal into transmission case with special tool
24 5 250.
Pull special tool 24 5 490 off manual shift valve shaft.
