Replacing front axle support (high)
Caution!
During the installation of a new front axle support, the pitman
arm can be adjusted,
refer to 32 21 510.
After assembly, perform alignment check of front axle and
adjust,
refer to 32 00 610.
Unscrew and remove splash guard.
Secure engine in installation position with special tool and release
engine mounts on left and right on engine support arm from
above,
refer to MG 11.
Remove left and right wheels.
Unfasten nut.
Press off track rod on pitman arm with special tool 32 1 190.
Installation:
Tapered spigot and bore free of grease; replace self-locking
nut.
Brace on hexagon socket if necessary.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 32 21 3AZ.
Remove idler arm
Installation:
Replace self-locking nut.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 32 21 7AZ.
