Surface defect on selector lever knob / version "Titanline"

E39 / M5

Situation:

The paint on the selector lever knob in the version "Titanline" (titanium line) is not resistant
to wear.

Effect:

In the course of time, the surface coating can come loose from the selector lever knob. The
result is discoloration.

Affected
vehicles:

E39 M5 
Manufacturing period: September 1998 to December 2000

Action:

Replace the "Titanline" (titanium line) selector lever knob with the "Vollleder Walknappa"
(full leather boarded napa) selector lever knob.

The "Titanline" selector lever knob is no longer available.

Procedure:

In case of customer complaint, replace the "Titanline" selector lever knob with the "Vollleder
Walknappa" selector lever knob.

Note:

Please inform the customer about the new version of the selector lever knob 
before performing the work.
