Replacing left or right swivel bearing (high)
Caution!
After assembly, measure and adjust front axle alignment.
Remove brake disk (brake line remains connected),
refer to 34 11 220.
Remove ABS impulse sensor.
Unfasten nut.
Press off track rod with special tool 31 2 240.
Installation:
Use washer (1). Tapered spigot and bore both free of grease.
Replace self-locking nut.
Brace on hexagon socket if necessary.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 32 21 3AZ.
Remove control arm from swivel bearing,
refer to 31 12 001.
Remove traction strut on swivel bearing,
refer to 31 12 092.
Pull swivel bearing downwards and remove.
