5 Series E39 M5 (S62) SAL
Remove pump with retaining plate.
If necessary, remove retaining plate and attach to new pump.
Installation:
When installing pump, observe tightening sequence:
1.
Tighten new M8X22 hexagon screw at rear of timing
case cover until hand-tight.
2.
Screw new hexagon nut onto retaining plate at front and
tighten initially.
3.
3. Tighten new M8X25 hexagon screw at front of
retaining plate until hand-tight.
4.
4. First tighten down rear hexagon screw, tightening
torque = 25 Nm.
5.
5. Tighten down hexagon nut, tightening torque = 25 Nm.
6.
6. Tighten down front hexagon screw, tightening torque =
25 Nm.
7.
7. Release hexagon nut and hexagon screws in same
sequence by 90
°
and retighten to tightening torque = 25
Nm.
