When the terminals are activated, CBS vehicles indicate the "Pre-delivery check" as a due
service in the instrument cluster for 5 seconds. This service indicator is intended as a
reminder of the vehicle's limited functionality during transportation. During the pre-delivery
check, the display is encoded as inactive with the BMW diagnosis system.
With the integration of the CBS item "Pre-delivery check", from SAM 2.6 onwards, it is
possible to print out the vehicle-specific pre-delivery check sheet using the Service
Acceptance Module. The basis for this is the vehicle key used by stock management being
read off with the KeyReader.
The new CBS item "Pre-delivery check" will be enabled on all CBS vehicles by 03/05 at the
This service item is encoded as "due" in the factory.
The new CBS item is integrated into the CBS display/control concept. In other words, when
the terminals are activated, a CBS service due will be displayed for approx. 5 seconds in
the instrument cluster. The same CBS pictograph is used for the pre-delivery check as for
the vehicle check (vehicle on lifting platform). The remaining distance and remaining time
are displayed to distinguish between the items "Vehicle check" and "Pre-delivery check".
Here it should be noted that the pre-delivery check is only accompanied by a time reference
with no remaining distance.
The display is a service display and not a Check-Control message!
Decoding is only possible using the BMW diagnosis system in the test module
"CBS pre-delivery check" and not with the instrument cluster. Decoding is
performed automatically when the test module is executed.
