The DDE will then work with a substitute value for the air mass meter signal.
a.
Compare the "rail pressure actual" value with Technical Data TD 13 112A "Common
rail pressure at starter speed".
Note: If the pressure value specified in the technical data is not achieved, the high-
pressure pump must be replaced.
b.
Remove special tool 13 5 450 for checking the high-pressure pump and connect the
plug connections.
3. Check pressure control valve
Only M47TU:
-
Connect special tool 12 7 420 and 61 4 390 to the control-unit plug (X2412).
-
Bridge PIN 32 with PIN 2 on test box 61 4 390 .
-
Disconnect the flow regulating valve connector on the high-pressure pump.
a.
Disconnect all pressure lines between the injectors and pressure accumulator and
close all loose hose connections on the pressure accumulator using special tool
13 5 413 .
Observe the tightening torque, refer to 13 53 8AZ.
b.
Select the following menu on DISplus or GT1:

Control unit functions
=>
DDE 5.0
=>
Diagnostics request
=>
Rail pressure, actual
=>
Displays
c.
Operate the starter motor.
d.
Compare the "rail pressure actual" value with Technical Data TD 13 112A "Common
rail pressure at starter speed".
If the pressure value specified in the technical data is not achieved, the pressure
control valve must be replaced.
Note:
If the check cannot be made on the M47TU, program the digital diesel electronics
control unit in accordance with Repair Instructions RA 12 14 705
.
