Removing and installing / replacing solenoid
valves on right VANOS adjustment unit (S85)
Special tools required:
•
11 5 400
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove fan cowl with electronic fan.
•
Remove coolant hose from radiator inlet.
Disconnect plug connection (1) on solenoid valve for exhaust
adjustment.
Disconnect plug connection (2) on solenoid valve for inlet
adjustment.
Plug connections (1 and 2) for inlet and exhaust solenoid valves
are identified with flags on the wiring harness.
Important!
Risk of mixing up
Release screw connection (1) on solenoid valve with special tool
11 5 400 .
