Replacing rear bumper trim (M6)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove rear bumper trim
•
Remove lock part for bumper
•
Remove both rear lights in bumper
•
Remove both license plate lights
•
Remove all ultrasonic transducers
Remove cover cap (1) for tow lug.
Remove wiring harness (2) for ultrasonic transducers.
Lay bumper trim (1) down on a cushioned, level surface.
Attach license plate carrier (2) to bumper trim (1).
Important!
Make sure license plate carrier (2) is correctly seated on
bumper trim (1).
Guide (3) must be correctly seated in bumper trim (1).
Note:
The license plate carrier is secured with a commercially available
hot-cutting tool (1) with replaceable blade (2).
Warning!
Observe the following when handling the hot-cutting tool (1):

Danger of burning
-
Do not inhale the fumes that are generated, draw fumes
off by extraction if necessary

Make sure the room is well ventilated
