Unscrew bolt (1).
Remove bracket for filler hose of ITS head airbag (2).
Installation:
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 72 12 3AZ
Note:
From 09 / 99, the ITS head airbag gas generator and its
installation position will be changed.
The ITS head airbag gas generator is secured with two
holders to the bulkhead cross-member by the holder for the
instrument panel trim.
View, position and version, ITS head airbag gas generator from 09
/ 99, in direction of travel, left:
1.
ITS head airbag gas generator from 09 / 99
2.
Bulkhead cross-member with sound insulation
3.
Holder for instrument panel trim
Note:
If a pre-09 / 99 version gas generator is replaced with a post-
09 / 99 version, it will be necessary to make changes to the
installation position and the mounting of the ITS head airbag
gas generator.
The connector has likewise been altered and the cable length
must be increased due to the altered installation position.
Procedure for extending airbag cables is the same as the
procedure for cable repairs:
