Vacuum off bore chips.

Drill holes for M 6 blind rivet nuts. 

Note:

Refer to operating instructions of available rivet gun for
required bore diameter.

Deburr bores and protect against rust.

Insert blind rivet nuts.

Note:

Refer to operating instructions of available rivet gun for
selection of suitable blind rivet nuts and procedure for
inserting blind rivet nuts.

Pay attention to metal thickness when selecting suitable blind
rivet nuts.

Blind rivet nuts must stand up to a torque of 4 Nm!

To determine new cable length, fit ITS head airbag gas generator
with repair cable.

Determine length and routing of extended repair cable to ITS head
airbag gas generator.

Note:

When laying extended repair cable, make sure cable is not
abraded or jammed at any point.

Remove ITS head airbag gas generator.

Extend and lay cable to ITS head airbag gas generator.

Procedure for extending airbag cables is the same as the

procedure for cable repairs:

In event of visible damage to wiring harness,
