Removing and installing timing case cover,
top left (M62 up to 9/98)

Remove left cylinder head cover. These tasks are
described in the work step Removing and installing/sealing
both cylinder head covers,

refer to 11 12 004.

Remove fan clutch with impeller,

refer to 11 52 020.

Unfasten timing case cover.

Remove rubber sealing strip.

Installation:

Clean groove for rubber profile seal and sealing surfaces of
remains of seal.

Installation:

Keep sealing faces clean and free of oil.

Apply coat of Drei Bond 1209 to joint between cylinder head
and lower timing case cover (refer to BMW Parts Service).
