Altering the temperature
E38 with IHKA and IHKR
Situation:
If the temperature control on the IHKA or IHKR was set to one of the end values, either
max. or min. on the driver's side, this overrode the temperature control setting on the
passenger side.
Since 9/95 the temperature setting on the driver's side no longer overrides the passenger
side setting. The temperature setting for the passenger side now remains unchanged even
when the driver sets his or her temperature control to max. heat or max. cold.
Affected
vehicles:
All E38 with IHKA and IHKR as from 09/95.
Procedure:
In the event of complaints, please refer the customer to this modification.
Note regarding the E38 with IHKA:
To make this system consistent and easy to understand for the customer, the original
idea of having climate control for the rear from the driver's side has now also been
dropped.
The next edition of the Owner's Handbook will be modified accordingly.
