7 Series E38 740d (M67) SAL
Re-install piston, conrod and bearing shells back in the same
position and in the same installation location.
Connecting rods and bearing covers are designated with the same
pair number: do not mix them.
Caution!
Relevant crankshaft journal must be at BDC.
Arrow on piston head must point in direction of travel.
Only press pistons into place with finger force - do not knock
in!
Apply a light coat of oil to piston and piston rings.
Align piston ring contact points (offset approx. 120
°
, but not over
piston pin lug).
Insert piston into special tool 11 8 140 .
Position special tool 11 8 151 /11 8 152 on conrod.
Carefully position special tool 11 8 151 on crank pin (1) and
insert piston into cylinder.
Attach crankpin to conrod.
Remove special tool 11 8 151 /11 8 152 .
