Removing and installing/replacing alternator
drive belt (M67)
Note:
If the drive belt is to be subsequently reused:
Mark direction of travel and reinstall drive belt in same
direction of travel.
Note:
The acoustic cover has been removed for a better view.
Caution!
CCW thread!
Release union nut (1) on fan blade (2).
Caution!
Do not damage radiator fins.
Note:
Illustration does not show radiator cowl.
Caution!
Tensioning device is under spring pressure.
Press back tensioning roller (1) at hexagon head and thus
remove drive belt (2).
Check drive belt for coolant and oil residue, clean, replace if
necessary.
Caution!
The drive belt must be replaced if it is contaminated with
hydraulic fluid.
