7 Series E38 740d (M67) SAL
Caution!
The gears and the sprocket wheel must be fitted without oil
and grease on the camshafts.
Note:
The position of the camshaft gears to each other does not
influence the function in any way.
The camshaft gears have no markings.
Release timing chain (1).
Install camshaft gear (2).
Install special tool 11 8 121/122.
Tighten down screw (3).
Caution!
Do not allow timing chain (1) to drop into engine block.
Raise timing chain (1).
Install sprocket wheel (2).
Caution!
Use new screws (1).
Install drive gear (2).
Insert screws (1) down to screw heads.
