7 Series E38 740d (M67) SAL
Installation:
Installation of camshafts is described separately from removal.
Assembly sequence for removal and installation is different.
Remove special tool 11 2 300.
Using special tool 11 6 480, crank engine at vibration damper
approx. 45
°
against direction of engine rotation.
Note:
Inlet and exhaust camshafts (1 and 2) are provided with
markings.
Meaning:
E1 = Inlet camshaft, cylinders 1 - 4
E2 = Inlet camshaft, cylinders 5 - 8
A1 = Exhaust camshaft, cylinders 1 - 4
A2 = Exhaust camshaft, cylinders 5 - 8
Carefully insert exhaust camshaft (1).
Carefully insert inlet camshaft (2).
RA Replacing both camshafts on right (M67)
