Removing and installing or replacing right
exhaust turbocharger (M67)
Note:
Instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery,
refer to General Information MG12.
Disconnect battery negative terminal.
Remove underbody panelling at front and rear.
Completely remove right air cleaner box.
Remove and install right primary catalytic converter,
refer to 18 31 050 .
Warning!
Danger of scalding!
Only perform these tasks on an engine that has cooled down.
Caution!
If the charge air hoses are not fitted dry and without grease,
this will result in supercharger failure.
Fit charge air hoses dry and without grease.
Caution!
Right turbocharger must be removed together with oil
pressure line.
Oil pressure line must not be damaged or deformed in any
way when removed.
Release clamp (1).
Release screws (2).
Remove oil return line (3).
Caution!
Fit charge air hoses dry and without grease.
Release clamp (4) and push back.
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 65 10AZ .
Detach connector (5) on turbocharger.
