Removing and installing/replacing starter
motor (M67)
Note:
Read fault memory. Switch off ignition.
Instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery,
refer to General Information MG 12.
Disconnect and cover battery negative lead.
Remove underbody panelling.
Remove left primary catalytic converter,
refer to 18 31 055.
Unscrew nut (1).
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 12 41 4AZ.
Disconnect battery positive leads (2).
Unscrew nuts (1).
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 12 41 4AZ
Disconnect leads (2).
Loosen screws (1).
Note:
The heat shield can be warped a little to facilitate removal.
Remove heat shield (2) towards rear.
