Modified crankshaft bearing mountings
M60
Situation:
Conversion of the crankshaft bearing mountings from:
1.
M10 bolts with "hexagonal head" to M11 bolts with "Torx-type head"
2.
Revised angle of rotation for tightening purposes
Affected
vehicles:
M60
Period of manufacture: October 1995 to the end of series production
Procedure:
If the crankshaft bearing mountings have to be unfastened during the course of a repair -
and should the bearing caps be fastened with M11 bolts with "Torx-type head" - it is
essential you take into account the revised tightening angle (the same procedure as used
on the M62).
Tightening sequence:
M10 hexagonal head
M 11 Torx-type head
1. Tightening torque:
20 Nm
20 Nm
