Replacing tank vent valve M60, M62)

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Switch off ignition.

M60:

The tank vent valve is secured to timing case cover on cylinders 1
to 4.

M60:

Unfasten hose clips (1 and 3) and remove hoses.

Disconnect connector (2).

Slide tank vent valve out of bracket.

Installation:

Interrogate fault memory of control unit on Digital Engine
Electronics (DME), check fault messages in memory, rectify
faults and cancel fault memory.

M62:

Tank vent valve on front left wheel arch.

Unfasten plug connection (1).

Unfasten hose clip (2) and pull off fuel hose. Always replace clip
and fuel hose.

Open locking fixture (3) and remove hose.

Installation:

Interrogate fault memory of control unit on Digital Engine
Electronics (DME), check fault messages in memory, rectify
faults and cancel fault memory.
