7 Series E38 750iL (M73) SAL
Place piston in BDC setting with special tool 00 2 590
(Plastigage Type PG 1) on oil-free crankshaft.
Install conrod bearing cover in such a way that pair numbers
match.
Note:
Do not turn the connecting rods or crankshaft.
Use the old conrod bolts to check conrod clearance.
Tightening conrod screws:
Use special tool 00 9 120 and special tool 11 2 110.
For tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 24 1AZ
Remove conrod bearing cover and read off conrod bearing
clearance on width of compressed plastic thread with the help of
the measuring scale.
Conrod bearing clearance,
refer to Technical Data
Remove plastic thread.
