Replacing left or right control arm

Caution!

After assembly, measure and adjust front axle alignment.

Remove front wheel, 

refer to 36 10 300

Remove control arm from front axle support / steering knuckle.

Installation:

Fit washers (1) on both sides.

Replace self-locking nut. 

Tightening Torque,

refer to Technical Data 31 12 2AZ / 6AZ

Remove screw.

Install special tool 31 2 200 in slot and twist through 90

°

.

Pull steering knuckle downwards.

Installation:

Push steering knuckle upwards with workshop hoist.

Screw must locate in bore of retaining web (1). Remove
special tool 31 2 200.

Tightening Torque,

refer to Technical Data 31 21 4AZ
