Replacing front left or right spring strut shock
absorber
Special tools required:
•
31 3 340
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove brake caliper from steering knuckle and tie back
(brake line remains connected)
Note:
Read and comply with Information on replacing shock
absorbers.
Unfasten nut.
Force tie rod end off steering knuckle with special tool 32 1 190.
Installation:
Keep tie rod end to steering knuckle connection clean and free
from oil and grease.
Replace self-locking nut.
Tightening torque 32 21 3AZ
.
Remove control arm from front axle support.
Installation:
Fit washers (1) on both sides and replace self-locking nut.
Tightening torque 31 12 2AZ
.
