Insert shock absorber into coil spring.

Observe installation sequence.

Refer to 33 52 ... Layout of spring strut shock absorber.

One threaded pin (1) on the thrust bearing must be on one plane
with the bore in the rubber mount (2) and the opposite side of the
bush (3).

Replace self-locking nut.

Tighten down nut with special tool 31 2 210 (brace with ring
wrench). Tightening torque,

refer to Technical Data 33 52 2AZ.

Only relieve tension on special tool until spring coils can move
freely.

Under no circumstances should the special tool be extended to
the extent that the spring holders make contact with the lower and
upper spring retainers or the spring coil.

Failure to comply with this can cause preliminary damage to the
special tool and/or the coil spring.
