Immersed level sensor threaded connection
E38, E46, E39
Situation:
The ring on the immersed level sensor threaded connection has to date only been
manufactured from plastic. The plastic ring is fitted/removed using a specially designed
aluminium pin spanner.
On models E46, E38 and E39, this ring is now made of steel, which can damage the
aluminium pin spanner during removal/installation.
For this reason, a steel fixture has been developed for the existing aluminium spanner. Due
to its hardness, this fixture is not damaged while removing/installing the steel ring.
The existing tool 16 1 020 is expanded by the inclusion of the (two-part) fixture 16 1 022
and affects Series E46, E38 and E39.
Procedure:
This tool is available as a store tool and supplements the old tool.
Fixture 16 1 022 is available individually.
