Removing and installing/replacing trim (side
window) on door pillar (center door), left or
right side (L7)

Note:

Only adhesive for hot working is permitted for gluing the
door window.

Warm processing:

Open rear end of aluminum membrane in cartridge before
installing in cartridge oven.

Heat glue cartridges to 80 

°

C for one hour in oven (Sourcing

Reference: BMW Parts Service).

Comply with instructions on gluing windows,

refer to 51 13 ... .

Remove or disconnect following parts:

- Trim strip on side window of "center door", top

- Seal on side window of "center door", front/top

Note:

The side window is destroyed during removal.

Make measuring and installation tools:

Make a measuring strip (1) and two spacers (2) for adjusting
depth of side window.

Dimensions:

(A) 480 mm

(B) 5 ... 10 mm

(C) At least 10 mm

(D) 30 mm

(E) 5 ... 10 mm 

(F) At least 10 mm (risk of damage to 

door trims)

Caution!

The measuring tool must be torsionally rigid.

If possible, use plastic to avoid scratching the door windows
and trims.
