Replacing complete rear luggage
compartment floor (tail panel removed)
Read contents of Body, General.
Spot-weld bonding is used for the first time on the E65. A
specific procedure must be followed here.
Place vehicle on straightening bench.
Following new body parts are required (refer to EPC):
-
(1) Luggage compartment floor
-
(2) Extension, wheel arch, left
-
(3) Luggage compartment floor, side
-
(4) End panel, left
Open weld joints in areas (1).
Mark longitudinal member in accordance with measurement a and
cut.
Measurement a = approx. 210 mm from axle screw connection.
Installation:
Weld in reinforcing plate approx. 40 mm long.
Cut wheel arch extension in edge (1).
Open weld joints in areas (2).
Remove end panel (3) and open weld joints behind.
Mark longitudinal member in accordance with measurement a and
cut.
Measurement a = approx. 100 mm from rear M6 thread.
Installation:
Weld in reinforcing plate approx. 40 mm long.
