Notes on automatic rear lid actuation
(electrohydraulic-fully automatic)
Important!
Adhere to conditions of absolute cleanliness when working on
the opened hydraulic system. Even the smallest of dirt
particles in the hydraulic system can cause malfunctions.
Function description and check:

Refer to DIS (Diagnosis and Information System)
Installation location of individual components:
In luggage compartment on right side:

Rear lid module
2
Hydraulic unit
3
Proportional valve on (2)
4
Angle transmitter on right rear lid hinge
In luggage compartment on left side:
•
Hydraulic cylinder on left rear lid hinge
Checking fluid level in hydraulic unit:
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove right luggage compartment wheel arch trim
E67 only:
•
Remove additional trim panel.
Test requirements:
Open rear lid (motor-driven) once and close again, this bleeds the
system.
Open rear lid again (motor-driven).
