Release tools for outside door handle

E65, E66

Situation:

Due to changes in design, release hooks 51 3 230 can no longer be used. These release
hooks must be destroyed immediately.

To prevent damage to the modified support member, the repair sequence must undergo a
significant change. This repair sequence will be described in the next TIS edition (for brief
description, see enclosure 1 ).

The change in the repair sequence makes a new tool kit 51 3 250

 for the outside door

handle necessary. This tool kit will be supplied shortly.

To remove the outside door handles on the front doors, release slide 51 3 251 is required
to release the securing lug. Release hook 51 3 252 is used to move the tab washer
(slide).

To disassemble the outside door handles on the rear doors, only release hook 51 3 252
is required. It is now used to raise the tab washer (slide) out of the guide and push it
forward.

Procedure:

In a short while, the new tool kit 51 3 250 will be forwarded to you automatically in
accordance with the current tools agreement. The previously used tool 51 3 230 must be
disposed of and you will be given a credit note as compensation.
