Replacing crankshaft (M67TU)
Special tools required:
•
00 9 120
•
11 4 350
Replace all M12 bolts of main bearing caps.
Installing the caps of the main bearing shells in the wrong
positions will result in serious damage to the crankshaft drive!
Danger of cracking:
No fluid is permitted in the blind bores!
Observe tightening specifications without fail.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove engine.
•
Mount engine on assembly stand.
•
Remove oil pan.
•
Remove oil pump.
•
Remove left cylinder head.
•
Remove right cylinder head.
•
Remove all pistons.
Release screws (1).
Unfasten screws (2).
Release screws (3 and 4).
