Replacing front left engine carrier (without
wheel arch) (partial replacement in front of
bulkhead support carrier)
Read contents of Body, General.
Spot-weld bonding is used for the first time on the E65. A
specific procedure must be followed here.
Place vehicle on straightening bench.
Following new body parts are required (refer to EPC):
-
(1) Mounting, cross-member
-
(2) Retaining bracket
-
(3) Engine carrier, front
Open weld joints in areas (1).
Installation:
Apply repair welding spots to existing welding spots on new part.
This is necessary because the adhesive between the spot flanges
of the new part acts as an insulator.
